Stay at Home/Working Mommy

I just love it! I missed my little one so much! So Brent and I decided to share the work load. I work Monday, Friday and Saturday now.
I love watching my little one grow! It's amazing to see how much they can learn in just a few weeks. She is getting so BIG! I can't believe my 4lb. 4oz. girl is now 20lb! Ack...so killing me here. And with the growth come the 'tude. You other moms know what I'm talking about. The scream every time she doesn't get her way or throwing food 'tude. She is such a fiery, little red head already! She has such a big personality. I can't wait to see where it takes us.
Brent's school is going great. Just a few years left. Oh, I really can't wait till he's done. It's hard on him and hard on the family really. Less snuggle time together...sad. =( But this is making our lives so much better for the future.
I've been with First Financial Credit Union for a year now. I still love it! I have such an amazing boss and so many friends there. Seriously, I could see myself there for a long time. Yes, my dream is to be a stay-at-home mommy, but I'll probably keep on working through the kinder years.
As for the question people seem to be asking me more and more lately, no kids in the immediate future. We're not talking kids for at least another year. Ack...Autumn is still a BABY for crying out loud. It makes me sad when people ask when I'm having another baby. I still have a baby. =)

Working/Stay at Home

Hooray for this! I will no longer be a full-time working mom. Only part-time. Getting closer to living the dream of a full-time stay at home mom. Hooray! I know all you mothers out there understand my hoorah. Only because yes, we get annoyed with our kids when we are with them 24/7 but is there truly any better place to be? Honestly? ...nope, didn't think so. My husband is such a great man. He is really understanding of Autumn's needs as well as my own. She needs her mommy. Seriously though...let me tell you...the minute I walk in the door from work, she will no longer accept daddy's arms. It's mommy only. And she starts clapping, blowing me kisses and giving me big grins as soon as she sees me. It makes my heart jump and at the same time breaks it because I know I'm missing out on her joyful expressions for about 7-8 hours of the day!
Anyways...
Brent started another semester in school. He has one year down and about 3 more to go. You go, baby! I'm very proud of him because I know how difficult it is. Then again, if I could go back to school, I would. I miss it. What would I study you ask? I would go for Family Studies, Early Childhood Development.
Okay, above is an updated pic of Autumn in case you don't have Facebook and don't see all the amazing pictures I put up, haha.

Cake Face...or not so much

This little girl's birthday was a blast! I love this picture because this is the messiest her face got. She is my little princess. I mean, I literally call her princess. But her actions made me nickname her such. She wouldn't even touch the cake at first. She was so...delicate with it. It was incredibly cute though, seeing as how all the babies I have ever seen have been a total mess after their first bite of cake. She had a bigger smash cake that I made just for her. But she caught a glimpse of her cousin's Elmo cupcake and she wouldn't take the smash cake. She wanted an Elmo cupcake! We really appreciate all the family and friends that came to help celebrate.

I am in the running for yet another position at work. I know...I move too much. But this is another move up and I really hope I get this one. I love where I am though so if I don't get this position...not the end of the world. It would mean a raise though so...we're praying.

Hubby is almost finished with yet another semester. His semesters go every 2 months. So he's been in quite a few classes. I can't keep up anymore. But his final for Engineering is this week and then he moves on to English and Psychology. Needless to say, he's quite busy. But life is fun!

To the Void

I was included in the monthly newsletter at work. It was a Valentine's newsletter, of course. So they put a picture of my hubby and me in there along with a little story of us. There were other people in there too. The stories were all so cute! Sorry...romantic here. And although I know people get annoyed with the whole commercialism on Valentine's day, I think it is a good day to celebrate when you are married, especially if you have kids. Yes, a couple should be showing their love year round to one another. But is there anything wrong with having a day that's made for it? No...it's a free pass for men. The rest of the year, men may not buy their women chocolate and roses, but this day...they know that they'll earn big points if they do. Plus, romance does have a tendency to dwindle once you've been in a relationship for awhile (once again, especially with kids in the pictures). So why not use this day as an excuse to get away from your kiddos and romance each other?

Okay...finished on that there. I was also featured for my Cupcake Pops, which is not an original idea of mine. They are Martha Stewart's idea. I give credit where credit is due. They are fab. The only thing is...I was featured and they said they would use a picture of my work, but instead they used a picture of another girl who had tried them and it looked dumb. Like I said, credit where credit is due. Mine looked better, thanks. (See post from August 10, 2010 for proof.) I was kinda irritated. Oh well. I don't want my name stuck to something that doesn't look like my work. How can I promote my baking to people that way? Oh well...I only voice it here because nobody from work is likely to read my blog. In fact, I'm pretty sure I write to the void.

Hello and goodbye, Void.

Excited!

Because...I found out that my blog website is not blocked at work. I just thought I would give it a try. I'm tired of being sucked into reading ABCnews all day. That is pretty much the only website that works. But I'm glad I gave this one a shot. Now I can catch up on my sister's (April) blog and others. She's so faithful to blogging. It's just craziness.

New updates: Brent is doing better in school. He's learning how to manage his time. He was getting discouraged at the beginning of this semester because it was so difficult. He starts talking to me about his Engineering class and it sounds like Chinese to me. He starts talking about binary numbers and I'm just totally lost. He does cool things with voltages and stuff I don't understand. He works on a switch board, makes a light turn on and he is just so excited. I get happy for him too. But I don't exactly understand...

Autumn is doing pretty good. The little booger army crawls and rolls all over the place. She loves cheerios, pizza, mac n' cheese, and chicken nuggets. Yes...she is a normal kiddo. haha...ever since I changed her diet from baby food to adult food, she won't eat any fruits or veggies. Well, I did get some banana in her mouth the other day. But only because I ate half of it. I also made my own yogurt for her. (Thanks for the homemade baby food making book, Denny and Mom!) It was an apple and plum yogurt. So all I had to do was steam the apples and plums, mush them up and add plain yogurt. It was easy and she actually ate a little of it! My other attempt was a butternut squash pasta. That was a no go. One taste and her little nose scrunched up. I didn't think it was too bad though. Lacked a little flavor...

Autumn has two teeth on the bottom. But I can't stick my finger in her mouth to check on her other teeth anymore. She bites! And I mean hard! But I think she might look like a baby vampire because for some reason, those teeth look to be coming in first. Can't really tell though. Her first birthday is this Saturday and I'm so excited for all the family and friends coming to celebrate! My mommy and step-dad are driving in to town to help celebrate. This will be the first time since her birth that they will be able to hold her and play with her.

As for me...my life is pretty boring, but I love it! I work, go home and make dinner, play with my little lovey, and paint/watch TV once she goes to bed. My weekends are packed with the normal working mom stuff: grocery shopping, cleaning and playing some more with my little lovey. This is why I love my life. To keep it simple: my days are packed with work (not always fun), but my nights and weekends are packed with love (always fun)!

Wow...Long Time, No Post...

Well, time for an update! Not that many people pay attention to this blog, but I figured I should update those family members of ours that do.
After living in Calven's house (my brother-in-law) for 7 months, rent free...we're blessed...we found the place God wanted us. We are now living in a nice little mobile, better than an apartment. Brent's parents bought us this temporary home (for which we are forever grateful). We pay our lot rent and other such bills monthly. We love it! It has just the right amount of space. It's a 3 bedroom 2 bath. It has a laundry room and a nice kitchen. We are all moved in. Now we are in the process of sprucing it up a bit. It is 15 years old. And if you know anything about mobile homes, you know that they depreciate with time. So...we're taking this on! With modern funiture and bold paint/curtain colors this place is looking better all the time.
Our work so far (besides cleaning): ripped up carpet in laundry room/back door entry. It smelled like cat. Also ripped up the carpet in the master's closet because this is where the cat's litter box must have been. It smelled horrible. Put some stuff on the floor called Killz and it completely fixed the smell. New curtains hung in living room and bedrooms. Master bathroom is painted and beautiful bright blue! Now getting to work on our bedroom (Japanese theme) with the colors tan and orange. Excited!
That's our life for now...will post more later...hopefully!
