To the Void

I was included in the monthly newsletter at work. It was a Valentine's newsletter, of course. So they put a picture of my hubby and me in there along with a little story of us. There were other people in there too. The stories were all so cute! Sorry...romantic here. And although I know people get annoyed with the whole commercialism on Valentine's day, I think it is a good day to celebrate when you are married, especially if you have kids. Yes, a couple should be showing their love year round to one another. But is there anything wrong with having a day that's made for it? No...it's a free pass for men. The rest of the year, men may not buy their women chocolate and roses, but this day...they know that they'll earn big points if they do. Plus, romance does have a tendency to dwindle once you've been in a relationship for awhile (once again, especially with kids in the pictures). So why not use this day as an excuse to get away from your kiddos and romance each other?

Okay...finished on that there. I was also featured for my Cupcake Pops, which is not an original idea of mine. They are Martha Stewart's idea. I give credit where credit is due. They are fab. The only thing is...I was featured and they said they would use a picture of my work, but instead they used a picture of another girl who had tried them and it looked dumb. Like I said, credit where credit is due. Mine looked better, thanks. (See post from August 10, 2010 for proof.) I was kinda irritated. Oh well. I don't want my name stuck to something that doesn't look like my work. How can I promote my baking to people that way? Oh well...I only voice it here because nobody from work is likely to read my blog. In fact, I'm pretty sure I write to the void.

Hello and goodbye, Void.

  1. aawww I saw your cupcake pops and I think they are adorable. I think they would make a great idea for just about any gathering! Especially valentine's day and baby showers =)
